And the demons sang: Forget me not

Inspired by the Tibetan practice of Chöd, where a person confronts the inner demons and befriends them, I have chosen to celebrate the demons. Via Forget-me-not flowers, they speak. The Forget-me-not flowers have for centuries been used in mythologies as a symbol of remembrance of our loved ones. In this audiovisual work the flowers control a generative soundscape, which represents the demons’ song. The demons’ song is a reminder that one should never forget the inner demons, but instead accept that they are part of life.

The work consists of pressed Forget-me-not flowers and programming in Max MSP. The video below the image is a recording of the generative work and shows an example of 3 flowers. Should be experienced in full screen and with good speakers or headphones.
